who’s behind the new
dark money
group in town
A new 501c6 organization, Pinellas Energy Alliance, was established in October about a week after the Clearwater City Council voted to move forward with an appraisal of the electric grid, the next step toward Dumping Duke for publicly owned power. Now we’re seeing a huge propaganda push from two groups, Clearwater Energy Alliance & St. Pete Energy Alliance.
YOU ARE PAYING FOR THIS.
If we look at similar fights for public power, we can prepare for Duke to pull out all the stops and spend a LOT of OUR money. In California, investor-owned utilities (IOU) spent more than $2.7 million to stop municipalization efforts and in Maine two IOUs spent $40 million!
Utility companies spend BIG to protect their profits, and then they charge US for it.
